Welcome to Good & Cormier

Minimize
Front DoorGood & Cormier is a nationally-known law firm dedicated to the defense of individuals and organizations in criminal investigations and cases, and to the protection of civil liberties through civil litigation.

The firm’s partners, Andrew Good and Philip Cormier, have combined experience defending criminal cases for more than 50 years, including many high profile criminal cases in Boston and elsewhere. Our priority in white collar cases is preventing prosecutions, in part, through the use of our credibility and experience in prevailing after trials and appeals. The firm’s white collar criminal defense clients include high ranking executives of Fortune 100 and smaller corporations, physicians, lawyers, architects and real estate developers, securities traders, pilots, teachers, and other licensed professionals.  Our cases have involved investigations and charges of copyright fraud and infringement, bribery, forgery, computer fraud and abuse, labor law violations (by employers and union officials), environmental law violations, bank, securities, tax, “honest services” and health care fraud, and regulatory crimes in the pharmaceutical, medical device, telecommunications, munitions manufacturing and export industries. The firm also has extensive experience defending investigations and charges involving violent and other serious crimes

The firm is currently engaged in cutting-edge, First Amendment and Due Process of Law litigation for a hedge fund client challenging bans and restrictions imposed by securities laws on truthful advertising by issuers of unregistered securities. We have also been in the forefront in protecting the First Amendment and Due Process rights of students and faculty in colleges and universities and in civil rights suits to redress abuse of police power.

Our success as advocates is built on a limited caseload, thorough and persistent investigation and preparation, clear and sometimes quick thinking (particularly under intense pressure in the face of adversity); strategic creativity and resourcefulness in presenting the law and the facts; and perceptive mindfulness of the reactions of co-defendants, adversaries, jurors and judges.
