A Gala Reunion:
Practicing Law for Liberty, 1969 to the Present

Postponement Notification:

  Some time ago you received a notice to hold Saturday of Memorial Day weekend (May 28th) for a Gala Reunion of the law firms deriving from the original Flym, Zalkind & Silverglate; Silverglate, Shapiro & Gertner; and their progeny (including Silverglate, Gertner, Baker, Fine, Good & Mizner; Silverglate & Good; Good & Cormier; Rankin & Sultan; David Kelston [Adkins, Kelston & Zavez]; Shapiro & Haber; Zalkind, Rodriguez, Lunt & Duncan; and others). The Steering Committee has decided that the date is too soon for us to be able to plan a substantive event that will accomplish our goal -- to allow all of us (lawyers, employees, clients, media friends, and other friends and cohorts) to put together the talks and panels required to allow us to examine where we started, where we've travelled, where we (and the state and nation) are, and what we should be doing now to further our individual and collective personal, professional and political agendas. Our plan has been, and remains, to produce a program that is more than just a reunion, but that is an examination of our lives, our work, and the agenda of what remains to be done.

  And so we are going back to the drawing board to plan the event with more care, and we'll be in touch with all of you later this year to let you know the new date as well as the agenda and program for this unique event. Meanwhile, if you have any ideas, don't hesitate to let us know. And if you have names and contact information of anyone who is not yet on our invitee list (below) please give us that information so that, when the time comes, we'll include everyone possible. Note that we plan to invite, in addition to all persons who have worked for or with the original firms or any of its spin-offs, selected friends, clients, cohorts, and media people. Feel free to suggest names when you consult the Website.
